About Erin
I am a graduate of Taylor University (1996) and a school teacher by trade. Though I enjoyed teaching, I wanted to have children, and I sought a career that would enable me to work part-time. Ultimately, I decided to pursue my love of massage in a professional capacity.
I graduated from the Indiana College of Bodywork in 2005 with a certification in massage therapy. Two months after graduation I assisted my first natural birth and was transformed by the miracle of birth and how a woman’s body is created to give birth without medical assistance. My husband and I attended Bradley Classes during our first pregnancy and were able to experience our own amazing natural birth of Selah Joy. The empowerment of this birth spurred me on to seek out more information on how to help educate couples about the natural birth process. In 2007 I completed the ALACE training for labor assistants. Soon after my training, I used two doulas in the birth of my second daughter, Aria Noel. I found their help and support invaluable.
Today, I have the honor of assisting couples as they experience the miracle of birth. My greatest hope is for women to have a positive birth experience – one that allows them to have trust and confidence in their bodies and a voice in their prenatal care, labor and delivery, and infant care. As technology advances, we seem to lose our intuitive understanding that childbirth is a normal, natural and healthy part of a woman’s life. It is my desire to equip women with the tools she needs to have the birth she chooses. Education and body awareness play a large role in this endeavor. I will provide emotional, physical and informational support through the entire birth process, supporting the mother in all of her decisions resulting in a healthy mom and baby, and a positive memory of her day.
